JAMMU, Nov 10: Senior Congress leader and Minister for Culture, Horticulture and Housing and Congress party candidate from Gandhi Nagar constituency Raman Bhalla exhorted the party workers to make people aware about the policies of the Congress, so that the communal forces, who are trying to create a wedge between Hindu and Muslim communities, are given a befitting reply in the forthcoming Assembly elections in the State.
Minister stated this after inaugurating Congress party election office at Main Stop, Gandhi Nagar here today.
He added that Congress party leaders were successful in raking up important issues related to down trodden people especially Below Poverty Line (BPL) families and all these issues will be settled on priority basis after the formation of the next Government in the State led by Congress.
“Some of the regional parties are exploiting the poor people and down trodden sections of the society by showing them such dreams, which they cannot fulfill,” Minister said and termed these political parties as dream sellers and hollow slogan mongers as the leaders of these parties just appear during electioneering and after elections, disappear.
Later, Minister addressed series of public meetings in Bhatindi, Digiana Camp, Sanjay Nagar and Trikuta Nagar areas of Gandhi Nagar constituency.
He asked the people to vote in favour of Congress party for the holistic development of the Gandhi Nagar constituency in particular and J&K state in general. For cherishing this dream, Minister has sought people’s support for another stint.
“Electrification of number of areas in the constituency was done by getting a number of electric poles and transformers installed and upgraded. Adequate water supply was also made available to the people of the area by laying pipes, installing hand pumps and number of tube wells constructed and got functional to augment the need of drinking water in the area”, Minister said.
“In Gandhi Nagar constituency, around 15 schools have been upgraded to high and higher secondary level, which are catering to the needs of thousands of students at their doorsteps. All this happened due to the positive approach, sincerity and dedication of the Congress party towards the people”, Minister asserted.
“You must reject the people who have been exploiting you on the name of caste, creed and religion and vote consciously as the people urge for change under the banner of Congress party”, Bhalla added.
Among others present were Mohan, Naib sarpanch Haji Neak Mohammad, Mohinder Singh, Darshan Singh, Tarun Sharma, Thakur Karan Singh, Banarsi Dass, Chamail Singh, Raspal Singh, Pushpinder Singh and Dwarka Choudhary.
