*GGHS Jawahar Nagar secures top position in Kabaddi

JAMMU, May 14: Players continued to sweat for top honours in the ongoing inter zonal and school level competitions, being organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at different venues.
JAMMU: Inter school District Level Competitions in the disciplines of Football for under-14 and 17 boys and Swimming for under-14 and 17 boys and girls continued for the third day at GGM Science College and MA Stadium here, respectively.
In under-14 football, MHAC Nagbani beat Jodhamal Public School by 2-0 goals and MHAC Nagbani smashed Alexander Memorial by 2-0 goal, whereas in under-17 category, Springdales beat KC International by 2-1 goals and Heritage thrashed MHAC Nagbani by 4-3 goals via tie breaker.
In under-14 Swimming (girls), Shoba Jamwal of Jodhamal Public School, Biya of KC Public School and Anika of KC Public School bagged first, second and third positions respectively in 50 meters Free Style, whereas in 100 meters Breast Stroke, Samya of KC Public School, Aaron of Heritage Public school and Vani of Jodhamal Public School claimed top three ranks.
In under-17 Swimming (girls), Khushi of Jodhamal Public School, Sanskriti of KC Public School and Garima of KC Public School bagged top three positions in 50 meters Butterfly, whereas in Free style, Akshita Mengi of KC Public School, Varinda of Jodhamal Public School and Kum Kum of KC Public bagged first, second and third positions respectively.
In under-14 Swimming (boys), Samrat of Jodhamal Public School, Tammei of KC Public School and Neel of APS Kaluchak secured first, second and third positions respectively in 50 meters Chest Stroke, whereas in Free Style, Divyan of DPS, Neel Bhan of Heritage and Abijay of Heritage claimed top three positions respectively.
In under-17 Swimming (boys), Dhaerya of Jodhamal Public School, Ashmeet of Jodhamal and Abishek of APS Kaluchak claimed top three ranks in 100 meters Free Style, whereas in 800 meters Free Style, Karan Dhar of KC Public school, Manu Kabra of Heritage Public School and Chankaya of KC International secured first, second and third positions respectively.
In under-17 Cricket final, Bhalwal registered a convincing victory over Akhnoor by 9 runs.
REASI: District Level Inter Zonal Competitions in the disciplines of Kabaddi, Kho-Kho and Volleyball for under-14 and 17 girls concluded at Zorawar Sports Stadium.
In under-14 Kho-Kho, Reasi beat Chassana by 10-4 points and claim the title, whereas in under-17 category, Reasi smashed Arnas by 8-5 points.
In under-14 Kabaddi, Reasi Zone beat Arnas by 15-5 points, whereas in under-17 category, Reasi beat Pouni by 20 points.
In under-14 and 17 Volleyball, Pouni remained winner by defeating Reasi and Arnas by 2-0 and 2-1 sets respectively.
SAMBA: Inter School District Level Jump Rope Tournament for under-14 boys and girls concluded at Netaji High School Vijaypur.
In under-17 boys, Pratham Singh of Rich Harvest emerged winner in 30 Sec Speed, Aman of St Mary Convent in Free Style, Rohan Charak if Rich Harvest in Endurance, Kunal of St Mary Convent in Double Under and Aman, Mohit, Nadeem and Abram of Naveen Shiksha Niketan in Relay.
In under-14 girls, Radhika of Government Middle School Bara secured top position in 30 Sec Speed, Shikha Malhotra of Government Middle School Bara in Free Style, Samridhi of Bhargava Public School in Endurance, Amandeep Kour of Naveen Shiksha Niketan in Double Under, Priyanka of Naveen Shiksha Niketan, Saraswarti of Naveen Shiksha Niketan, Divya of Bhargava Public School and Neha of Government Middle School Bara in Team Relay.
In under-17 girls, Sunakshi of Parveen Model claimed first position in 30 Sec Speed, Minakshi of Rich Harvest in Free Style, Sonam of Naveen Shiksha Niketan in Endurance, Vishati Sharma of Parveen Model School in Free Style, Manvi of Parveen Model School, Narmada of Bhargava Public School, Yamini of Bhargava Public School and Ashu Raina of Rich Harvest in Team Relay.
RAJOURI: Inter School Tournament for under-14 boys and girls commenced at Mini Stadium Sports Complex here.
In Kabaddi (boys), GBMS Jawahar Nagar and Army Goodwill public School claimed winner and runner-up positions respectively, whereas in Kho-Kho (boys), International Higher Secondary School claimed first position and Army Goodwill Public School bagged runner-up position.
In Volleyball (boys), GBMS Jawahar Nagar and Army Goodwill Public School claimed first and second positions respectively, whereas in Handball (boys), Army Goodwill Public School and GMS Ninganar remained winner and runner-up respectively.
In Kabaddi (girls), GGHS Jawahar Nagar and GMS Ninganar remained winner and runner-up respectively, whereas in Kho-Kho (girls), Army goodwill Public School and International Higher Secondary School claimed first and second positions respectively.
In Handball (girls), GMS Ninganar claimed first position.
UDHAMPUR: Inter-School Tournament for under-14 and 17 girls held here.
In under-14 (100 meters), Vishali Sharma of GGHS Thial claimed first prize, while Anshu Rani of GMS Nakki bagged second prize, whereas in 200 meters, Gayatri Devi of GMS Chegli Babey and Prinka Devi of GMS Sunal bagged first and second prize respectively, in 400-meter, Sakshi Verma of GMS Bilaspur and Shakeen begum of GGHS Thial bagged first and second positions respectively and in 600 meters, Anshu Rani of GMS Nakki and Vishali Sharma of GGHS Thial secured first and second prizes respectively.
In Long Jump, Anshu Rani of GMS Nakki and Bandana Devi of GMS Bilaspur bagged first and second positions respectively, whereas in Discus Throw, Usha Devi of GGHS Thial and Shivani Devi of GMS Neeli claimed first and second positions respectively.
In Shot-Put, Jyoti Devi of GGHS Thial and Bushra of GMS Nikki secured first and second positions respectively.
