Bhandari dedicates Badminton Court to SMVDSB staff

JAMMU, June 20: Additional CEO, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) Dr Mandeep K Bhandari dedicated newly constructed Badminton Court to the Badminton and sports lovers of SMVDSB at Nomain Staff Colony, Katra.
Dr Bhandari also declared open “Staff Sports Meet” for the employees representing Banganga, Nomain, Charan Paduka and Katra units of the Shrine Board.
It is a part of the on going sports competitions at various locations in the Shrine Board.
In his address, Dr Bhandari said that this event marked the begining of calander of supporting activites of SMVDSB, Katra.
He appreciated the inititive of the sports wing under the guidance of Ashok Kumar, Director Sports, SMVDSB.
Dr Bhandari hoped that with the commissioning of multipurpose Sports Stadium at Katra, sports events would be conducted on a much larger scale and with widder participation.
Mohan Dass, Deputy CEO, Rashpal Singh, AK and other senior officer of the Board were present on the occassion.
In Badmiton singles, Sunit Singh beat Ved Parkash by 2-0, Ashwani Kohli thrashed Mulkh Raj by 2-0 sets, Vivek Dubey trounced Ram Parsad by 2-1 sets, Joginder Singh routed Rahul Khajuria by 2-0 sets.
In Badminton Doubles, Vipan Sharma and Joginder Singh beat Randeep Singh and Sawtantar Singh by 2-0 sets and the score remained 21-18 and 21-16 points.
In Table Tennis, Vivek Dubey beat Rajesh Salgotra by 2-0 sets, Ashwani thrashed Rajeev by 2-0 sets, Aseem Chadha trounced Pushpinder by 2-0 sets.
The matches were officiated by the Vikrant Singh, Dhanraj Slathia, Vikram Jamwal and Maninder Singh.
