JAMMU, Nov 7: The Jammu and Kashmir State Bharat Scouts and Guides, Jammu, celebrated its Foundation Day here at the State Headquarters Gandhi Nagar on Thursday in which about 300 scouts/guides, scouters/ guiders and heads of institutions participated.
Scouts/Guides approached friends, neighbours, high officials, supporters and other fellow citizens and presented Scouts/Guides stickers on this day to them as a token of acclaiming them strong supporters of this noble movement.
Scouts/Guides spoke on the importance of this day as well and it was followed by some cultural items pertaining to the occasion.
The president of the organization, RS Chib honoured MM Joshi ZC with the Medal of Merit and MM Sharma ZC and SK Jain ZC with ‘Thanks Badges’ on this auspicious occasion for their commendable and praise worthy contribution in the development of the movement in district Jammu.
Dr Sri Ram Memorial Awards were also presented to the Best Scout Masters and Best Guides Captains for the year 2013, including M.B Shawl (Rajouri),
Bisher Ahmed Dar (Srinagar), Lalita Chadda (Jammu) and Abdul Ahad Shah (Anantnag) by R S Chib.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Director General Youth Services and Sports and Vice President, J&K State Bharat Scouts and Guides, Navin Aggarwal; Director Industries and Vice President, G.A Qureshi; Senior Lady Vice- President, Roma Wani; Advisor, Raj Bharti; Advisor, Sohail Kazmi; Nasreen Khan, Prabha Jain, Usha Chuni, S Sehaj Singh, M M Joshi, M M Sharma and S K Jain.
