JAMMU, Dec 14: Bhartiya Kala Sangam organized Bhajan Sandhya Programme in the memory of late Gobind Kour, who was the first woman Sculptor of the State at Govt Higher Secondary School Raipur, Satwari Cantt, here.
The renowned signers of the State kept the audience spellbound by singing devotional songs.
In this function, R S Chib, former Minister of the State was the chief guest, while SohailKazmi, senior journalist, chief patron Bhartiya Kala Sangam Leela Jamwal, Advisor Bhartiya Kala Sangam, T R Sharma (Retd.) Ramesh Singh Chib, Chairman and Director Bhartiya Kala Sangam, Shoba Ram Director Protocol and S P Verma, Chairman Gandhi Global Family and Jang S Verman were present on the occasion. While addressing the audience, Mr Chib, Former Minister lauded the efforts of the Bhartiya Kala Sangam for presenting such a rich Bhajan Sandhya by inviting well acclaimed singer of the State, Surinder Singh Manhas who kept the audience deeply delved in the religious atmosphere.
He said that late Gobind Kour has contributed a lot in the field of sculpture and by remember through the medium of devotional songs, it is a big tribute to her.
Earlier, TR Sharma, Chairman Bhartiya Kala Sangam, while welcoming the dignitaries and audience, gave a brief detail about the functioning of Bhartiya Kala Sangam (Regd.) Jammu since 1983 during which numerous cultural events have been organized, especially involving budding artists to groom the new talents. The artists who performed were Surinder Singh Manhas, Marina Manhas, Mukesh Kamal and Rampal and Group. The programme was anchored by Parveen K Sharma and vote of thanks was presented by Ramesh Singh Chib, Director Bhartiya Kala Sangam, Jammu.
