JAMMU, May 16: A 60-member troop of Jammu University including teachers and coaches was flagged off by Prof Dhian Singh Bhau, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, here today.
The campers would stay at Patnitop and have classroom teaching and outdoor training for seven days and the activities to be covered during these days included hiking, trekking, rock climbing, yoga, pitching of tents, rescue operations and other creative activities covering art and craft, painting, sketching etc.
Prof Bhau briefed the campers about the importance of the Camping activities. He advised the campers to maintain discipline at the camp site, so that they could learn the handling of outdoor trainings and activities, and stressed upon the trainers and teachers to inculcate the sense of responsibility, leadership qualities, patriotism and cooperation with each other during this camp.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Department has been organizing the outdoor training camps for the BP Ed and MP Ed students, since its inception as a part of the syllabi of BP Ed and MP Ed Courses.
