BHEL commissions thermal unit in Maharashtra

NEW DELHI, Mar 11:  Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) today said it has commissioned 270 MW coal based thermal power plant in Amravati district of Maharashtra.
“The unit was commissioned at Rattan India Power Ltd’s upcoming thermal power project located at village Nandgaonpeth in Amravati district of Maharashtra,” company said in a statement.    This is the fourth 270 MW unit commissioned by BHEL in Phase-one of the project, it said.
The project is being executed in two phases, each of 1,350 MW, it said.
Significantly, the commissioning of Amravati unit four comes close on the heels of the unit three which was commissioned on January 29, 2015.
