JAMMU, June 14: “Big Jammu Run”, a mega social event of 92.7 Big FM which was being celebrated for over a month on radio was held today at Gulshan Ground, here.
The message being given through this Run was “I am the Change” for proud residents of Jammu.
5 kilometer run was to promote various causes which are paramount in Jammu like Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, save water, health and fitness, cleanliness, make Jammu thalassemia free, etc.
Around 8000 to 10,000 people including the Indian Army, Air Force, BSF, CRPF, JKP, IRP, professional runners, sports persons, corporate employees, senior citizens, school and college students took part in it.
Minister for Health and Medical Education, ARI and Trainings Choudhary Lal Singh was the chief guest on the occasion, who flagged off the run. He endorsed the nation-wide campaign launched by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Secretary PHE, I&FC Parvez Malik, IGP Jammu Danesh Rana, AOC Air Commodore Ashutosh Lal, Managing Director of Swastik Diagnostic Laboratory BL Sharma, Mission Director NRHM Dr Yashpal Sharma, Executive Director CCDU Dr Narinder Bhatyal, Director Adarsh Buildestate Limited Mahesh Dutt Sharma, Bollywood and TV personalities like India’s most sought after anchor and Micky Virus fame Manish Paul and Birbal from Big Magic’s hit TV show ‘Har Mushkil ka Hal Akbar Birbal’ Vishal Kotian were also present.
Addressing the participants, Manish said, “I have rescheduled my on-going shoot to support the cause of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and I give assurance to the Health Minister to be always available to support this cause”.
Vishal also supported the same cause and said “I am really excited, keen and proud to be a part of the Big Jammu Run.
A lucky draw was also held in which Arjun Kumar from JKP won a Haier Refrigerator, Sandeep Kumar from 38 Bn CRPF and Aman Kumar won a Haier ACs, Nisha Roy won a bottom mounted refrigerator and Shilpa Sharma won Suzuki Swish 125 Scooty.
Whole team of Big FM including RJs Juhie, Sarang and Manas, Area Manager Syed Mujtaba Ali Jaffery, Programming Head Vikrant Sharma, Sidharth Arora, Siddharth Mahajan, Sourabh Sethi, Monika Gupta, Tajamul Khan, Nitish Sharma and Ashish Sharma were also present.
