JAMMU, Mar 25: BSF Kashmir, J&K Police Central Hockey team and Jammu Rural registered big victories over their rivals in the ongoing State Hockey Championship, being organsied by Hockey J&K at KK Hakhu Astroturf Stadium, here.
The Championship is being sponsored by J&K State Sports Council.
In the first match played today, BSF Kashmir defeated Jammu West by five goals to nil (5-0), while in the second match, J&K Police Central Hockey team blanked District Baramulla by four goals to nil (4-0) and in another match, Jammu Rural got better of Jammu Cantonment by six goals to three (6-3).
Ss Bali, Former Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports and Jaswant Singh, Senior Vice President Hockey J&K were the chief guest in today’s matches.
The matches were officiated by MS Reen (Tournament Director), Satvir Singh, Iqbal Singh, Karanjeet Singh, MS Senapati, Matinder Pal Singh, Jagjet Singh, Jagjeet Singh Reen and Sohail Azim.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Rajinder Singh, Senior Vice President Hockey India; RGN Wani; Ravi Raj Singh, GS Bakshi, General Secretary Hockey J&K and Manjeet Singh (Mani).
In tomorrow’s fixture, BSF Kashmir will take on District Rajouri at 1 pm and JKP Cnetral Hockey team will face District Samba at 3 pm.
