JAMMU, Oct 22: Young Strikers Cricket Club, One Team One Dream (OTOD XI and Shailputri Cricket Club registered big victories over their rivals in the ongoing Kashmiri Pandit Cricket League (KPCL) Season-III, being organised by Safran Cricket Club at Country Cricket Stadium Gharota, near here.
In the first match, Young Strikers Cricket Club thrashed Whites Cricket Club (WCC) in an easy contest by a big margin of 105 runs.
Earlier, put into bat, Young Strikers Cricket Club scored 149 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 4 wickets in the process. Vishal Tickoo top scored with 49 runs off 40 balls, while Vishal Raina and Varun contributed 40 and 29 runs to the total respectively.
For Whites Cricket Club, Rohit Pandita took 2 wickets by conceding 26 runs in his 3 overs.
In reply, WCC bundled out for a meagre total of 44 runs in 9.4 overs, thus lost the match by a big margin of 105 runs.
For Young Strikers CC, Ravi Pandita was the wrecker-in-chief, who captured 5 wickets by conceding 13 runs in his 3 overs, while Vishal and Amit Pandita bagged 2 wickets each.
For his superb batting display, Vishal Tickoo was adjudged as the man of the match.
In another match, One Team One Dream XI crushed Kashmir Vikings Cricket Club by a huge margin of 135 runs.
Winning the toss and batting first, OTOD XI scored a huge total of 172 runs in the 18 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process. Shubham Sharma top scored with unbeaten 68 runs off 41 balls, while Lalit Sharma and JP Singh contributed 40 and 28 runs to the total respectively.
For Kashmir Vikings CC, Sunny Mattoo took 2 wickets, while Vishal and Rajat Koul claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, Kashmir Vikings Cricket Club collapsed at 37 runs in 10.2 overs, thus lost the match by a big margin of 135 runs. Vishal was the only batsman to cross double figure mark, scoring 12 runs. For OTOD XI, Rahul Jamwal was the pick of the bowlers, who captured 5 wickets by conceding 6 runs in his 2 overs. Rahul Jamwal was adjudged as the man of the match for his superb bowling show.
In yet another match, Shailputri Cricket Club defeated Friends Cricket Club by a huge margin of 108 runs in a one-sided affair.
Batting first, Shailputri CC scored 227/5 in 20 overs. AVE Kachroo (70), Rahil (63) and Sumeet Hashia (28) were the main contributors. Akhtar Hussain and Deepak took 2 wickets each for Friends Club.
In reply, Friends Club scored 119 in 20 overs to lose the match by 108 runs. Surinder Singh (44), Sunil (29) and Sanjeet (20) were the main scorers. For Shailputri, Sidharth took 3 wickets, while Suraj Koul bagged 2 wickets. Deepak Koul, Nihal Koul and Rahil claimed one wicket each. Rahil who scored power-packed 63 off 25 balls was declared as the man of the match.
The matches were officiated by Ashok Singh and Girdhari Lal as the umpires, while Arun Zalpuri, Deepak Pandita, Raja Nadeem and Amit Bhat were the scorers. Ajay Peshin was the match referee.
