LUCKNOW, July 25:
The Motor Cycle Expedition team of 13 JAK RIF (KARGIL) ‘Bravest of the Brave’ part of Headquarters Uttar Bharat Area, which commenced its expedition on July 6 from Mana Pass (highest vehicle accessible pass in the world), reached Drass War Memorial via Khardungla (highest motorable road in the world) today, to commemorate the Kargil Vijay Diwas.
The expedition team, led by Maj Ritwick Singh, was welcomed by Lt Gen YK Joshi, General-Officer-Commanding, 14 Corps, during flagging in ceremony at Drass War Memorial, a statement of the central command said here on Thursday.
Altogether, 10 motivated soldiers completed the expedition in 20 days, travelling along some of the toughest routes of the country, conquering the inhospitable terrain, inclement weather and difficult road conditions.
En route, the team interacted with war veterans and brave women, to express gratitude of the Indian Army and the Nation, for the supreme sacrifices of their loved ones.
The team made a halt at the prestigious Indian Military Academy and motivated the budding Gentlemen Cadets and also met Sub Sanjay Kumar, PVC of 13 JAK RIF (KARGIL).
It also paid their respect and regards to the parents of late Capt Vikram Batra, PVC (P) and visited DAV College, Chandigarh where he had completed his graduation.
The Motorcycle Expedition was aimed at Remembering its martyrs, Rejoicing the victory and Renewing the pledge for the future IMA added. (UNI)
