SAMBA, Oct 14: A bike rider was crushed to death under a truck while another injured in the mishap at Bus Stand here today.
A police spokesman said that mishap took place when young Mohinder Pal, son of Kuru Ram and Darshan Singh, residents of R S Pura came from the main upper market side of Samba and entered National Highway at Main Chowk. A truck coming from Pathankote side to Jammu crushed the bike as the semi-alert riders failed to take precaution while entering busy highway.
Mohinder was crushed to death on the spot while injured Darshan was rushed to district hospital Samba and later referred to GMC Hospital Jammu. The police seized the truck No. PB07P/9349 and arrested its driver. A case has been registered in this connection.
