JAMMU, Mar 18: MLA Bimla Luthra today inaugurated two Creche Centers through Social Welfare Board, one at Bishnah and the other at Slad Kota in RS Pura constituency.
Large number of women from nearby areas attended the inauguration ceremony and apprised the MLA about their grievances regarding blacktopping of roads, power supply and tailoring centers.
Speaking on the occasion, Bimla Luthra said that the Coalition Government headed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has given preference to the upliftment of women as they constitute more than 50% of the population in the State. The State Government has launched various policies and programmes for the welfare of women folk like Anmol Beti programme, she said, referring to the recent budgetary provisions of Rs 30,000 each for the marriage of matriculate girls belonging to Below Poverty Line.
