PULWAMA, Dec 14: The birth anniversary of Swami Jeewan Sahib a mystic saint of medieval Kashmir was celebrated at Jeewan Sahib Asthapan, Ladhoo Pampore near here with religious fervour and gaiety today.
Besides, the members of the Pandit community from the village, members of the community from other areas of Pulwama district also participated in the function. On the occasion, besides, Bhajan Kirtan special prayers for peace and prosperity of people were held.
Naveed and fruits were distributed among the devotees visiting the shrine.
On the occasion, Ravi Ji Bhat general secretary of the Trust said that development of shrine is underway at present. He said the development of the shrine has been undertaken by Government agencies in close coordination with Swami Jeewan Sahib Mandir Prabandhak Trust to restore the pristine glory of this shrine.
He said Samadhi renovation and construction of park around it is at it’s final stage. Now the construction of Ashram and temple is to be taken up in hand for as the same is at the verge of collapse. The district as well as tehsil administration has extended total cooperation for protecting the symbols of faith in the Valley. The administration is fully supporting the cause of Pandits living in Valley and all efforts are made by the Government to restore the pluralistic character of Kashmir, he added.
President of the Trust, Bansi Lal Bhat urged the Government to promote this shrine for pilgrimage tourism.
