JAMMU, Oct 6: A birthday bash turned into a nightmare for the family of Kishore Lal in Ward No. 13 of Arnia as just after the party was over, the house of Lal was shelled by Pakistani Rangers causing injuries to six members of the family.
Reports said Kishore Lal and his family members had celebrated maiden birthday of Lal’s daughter Tanya in their house in Ward No. 13 in Arnia sector. The family members had dinner with their relatives and friends and went to sleep around 12 am.
However, within an hour of the birthday party, Pakistan Rangers started heavy shelling in Arnia town and house of Kishore also came under heavy firing and shelling.
Six family members of Kishore Lal including Lal himself were seriously injured in the shelling but little Tanya had miraculous escape.
Kishore Lal’s immediate neighbour, Ram Lal, who had also joined the birthday party, was killed in the firing.
The family of Kishore Lal, which was in celebrations mood yesterday, was today shattered taking care of six injured and shifting rest to the relief camps.
Sources said the family members of Kishore Lal, who were sleeping on roof of the house, were injured. His house was also extensively damaged.
