JAMMU, Sept 11: JKPCC working president Raman Bhalla today alleged that BJP was adopting diversionary tactics as it failed to keep its promises and provide justice to any section of the society in Jammu and Kashmir.
Bhalla was addressing meeting of Congress Minority Department Cell organized by Baldev Singh Wazir, Chairman District Jammu Urban.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhalla said his party will scuttle every attempt of the BJP and safeguard the rights of the people to start a new phase of development, once it returns to power. Former minister maintained that J&K needs a new direction as BJP has proved to be utter flops in governing J&K failed to take the country on the path of development and progress.
He described BJP as ‘storyteller’ which failed to give direction to the country and guide it on the right path. Party has completely failed and that’s why they tell stories. He said whipping up passions for short-term political goals will not do any good to the nation. The policies of BJP have flopped. “I can tell you with guarantee that they can do no good to this country,” he added.
Bhalla said that treachery and deceit of BJP is haunting Jammu people, who reposed their unflinching faith and support to it with a hope that Jammu may get a better deal.
“Despite being in power at the Centre and in J&K, the party failed miserably on governance front and let down Jammu on all fronts,” he said, adding that BJP has nothing to showcase as its achievement.
Bhalla slammed BJP for putting Jammu’s interests and development subservient to pleasure of personal agenda. He said that people of the J&K in general and Jammu region in particular were suffering on account of development due to poor governance of Government.
“We decry the politics of hate and divide”, he said while cautioning people against divisive politics being played by vested interests which has already alienated Kashmir from the mainstream.
Vice Chairman Minority Department Gurdarshan Singh, Satish Sharma, Corporator Pritam Singh, Rajinder Singh Randhawa, Block president Janak Raj also spoke on the occasion.
