JAMMU, Nov 11: Despite having sweeped the Assembly polls in the Dogra heartland of Jammu region with a massive mandate and 25 seats in 2014 elections, the BJP had caused greatest embitterment in the hearts and minds of people of Jammu during the coalition rule, said Harsh Dev Singh JKNPP Chairman and former Minister.
Not only were the hopes and aspirations of the people trampled upon ruthlessly by the BJP leaders after their ascendance to power, but the very self respect and pride of Dogras was bartered away for petty personal gains and lust of power, he lamented.
Having failed to fulfill even a single promise made by them to their Jammu electorates in their vision document, the mandated BJP leaders worked as mere puppets of Mehbooba Mufti and promoted the Kashmir centric agenda in utter disregard for the sentiments of Dogras, Singh added.
He was addressing huge public meetings in Sherpur in Hiranagar and Ratnal village in Bishnah. The programme at Sherpur was organized by Amandeep Singh and Ratnal Bishnah programme was organized by Nikhil Lalotra.
Flaying the BJP for bartering away its age old political philosophy for power sake, Singh said that in doing so it not only compromised with the remnants of its own dignity but with the honour and pride of its people as well. The policy of appeasement of separatists and anti-nationals was relentlessly pursued with release of around 11,000 stone-pelters together with a new scheme for rehabilitation of surrendered militants.
Yash Paul Kundal, while accusing the BJP of having inflicted multiple dents upon dogra pride, said that people of Jammu will have to unite and make herculean efforts to straighten the same.
Calling upon the people to join hands irrespective of caste, creed and colour to overthrow the BJP juggernaut, Kundal said that “BJP Mukt” Jammu alone was the solution to the woes of Jammu region.
He said that NPP leadership would visit each and every corner of Jammu region seeking public support to oppose, expose and finally depose the BJP for having betrayed the collective sentiment of Dogras.
