JAMMU, Sept 9: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is committed to serve the welfare of nation and society while opposition parties like NC, PDP and Congress are committed to serve their individual families. This was stated by BJP State president, Ravinder Raina, while addressing a gathering of prominent social and political personalities, including Sarpanches, Naib Sarpanches and Panches, who joined BJP, at party Headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, here, today.
BJP State general secretary, Dr. Narinder Singh coordinated the whole programme. He was also accompanied by State secretary, Sanjay Baru and State spokesperson IGP (Retd.) S.S. Bijral.
Ravinder Raina, said that BJP has always strengthened the democracy, whereas NC, PDP and Congress always longed to serve their own kith and kin. He was referring to the negative approach used by NC, PDP and Congress during the last Panchayat elections held in Jammu & Kashmir. He said that these parties played the game of boycott with their full strength, but at the same time they were on their toes to make demand for Assembly elections as they wanted to adjust their own-self and their blue-eyed persons.
Raina, said that it’s the BJP that has always batted for the rights of the people and it is the prerogative that today 73rd and 74th amendment has been achieved for strengthening Panchayats. Other parties never had any intention to decentralize the power for the welfare of the people as they always wished to relish the luxuries built upon the miseries of common masses.
Raina, further said that BJP empowered Sarpanches and Panches giving their economic powers for development at ground level. Now BDC elections are on the cards after which DDC elections will be there and these along with other major reformations will take place soon after the October 31 and that has been achieved only due to the abrogation of Article 370, he said and asked that why these important bodies were never framed in the past.
Surinder Kumar Gupta (Retd) Chief Engineer PDD and many Sarpanches and Naib Sarpanches joined the party during the programme.
BJP State Secretary, Arvind Gupta, State spokesperson, Balbir Ram Rattan, State press secretary Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, Minority Morcha State secretary, Ashok Singh, district secretary Muneera, Morcha State publicity secretary, Javed Rana were amongst the other prominent BJP leaders present on the occasion.
