BJP committed to women empowerment : Purnima

JAMMU, Sept 9: Claiming that BJP was the first political party in the country which granted 33 per cent reservation to women in its organizational setup, BJP Mahila Morcha State president Purnima Sharma said that the Party is committed for the empowerment of women at all levels.
Purnima Sharma said that the BJP has always been in forefront to highlight the problems of the women, advocated their empowerment and participation in decision making bodies like Parliament and Assemblies.
“How much concerned the present BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre is can be well judged from the fact that within a year, a number of welfare schemes and projects have been launched exclusively for the benefit of the women”, she said adding that today even a girl child born in a family is entitled for monetary benefits on her attaining the age of marriage.
Purnima Sharma, along with BJP State vice-presidents Sakina Bano and Usha Choudhary, BJP State secretary Rajni Sethi, Morcha State secretaries Monika Khosla, was addressing a gathering of a large number of women here today.
