JAMMU, Jan 23: Former MLA from Billawar and Congress leader Dr Manohar Lal Sharma has expressed serious concern over the recent incident of Hyderabad University in which a Dalit research scholar Rohit was forced to commit suicide by the University authorities.
In a press statement here today Cong leader said that this is a shameful and highly condemnable act in the history of Independent India. He said it is very unfortunate that the BJP and its leadership are continuously working for grabbing power in one and another state after attaining power in Center by using all ways and means, whether they are ethical or unethical and even creating communal atmosphere, dividing upper caste Hindus and Dalits by polarizing the situation by giving different slogans to exploit the issue and sentiments of particular communities. He said such tactics are dangerous for the country.
Dr Sharma said that similar shameful and barbaric incident occurred previously in Haryana in which members of Dalit family were murdered but the Union MOS Foreign Affairs V K Singh passed a shameful comment. He said the statement of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat well before assembly elections of Bihar state over reservation, clearly shows the mindset and hidden agenda of BJP and RSS.
