UDHAMPUR, Aug 21: In connection with elections of urban local bodies and Panchayats, a meeting of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) Udhampur Assembly constituency was held here today under the leadership of BJP District president Rakesh Gupta, in which Member Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Shamsher Singh Manhas and BJP State vice president Pawan Khajuria were especially present.
While addressing the meeting, Shamsher Singh Manhas said that the party cadre should not take lightly polls of urban local bodies and Panchayats because these elections will definitely strengthen BJP at grass root level. He appealed the workers to participate in urban local bodies and Panchayats elections very actively and find out winning candidates for the polls.
In his address, BJP State vice president Pawan Khajuria disclosed that Prime Minister Narinder Modi has given necessary instructions to the Governor of the State to initiate elections of urban local bodies and Panchayats for the sake of development of the State at Morha level by their local elected members. He stressed that the PM wants to share representation at grass root level by the local leadership.
District president Rakesh Gupta assured the State leadership that BJP’s performance in elections of urban local bodies and Panchayats from Udhampur Assembly constituency under the dynamic leadership of Pawan Khajuria will be historic.
BJP Udhampur District Seh Parbhari, Arun Chibber, Som Raj Khajuria, Advocate Amit, Akashey Bunty, Neelam Nargotra, Jagdish Chander, Ramneek Sharma, Mohan Lal Darahi, Sushant Gupta, Vikas, Geeta Devi and Kuldeep Kumar were prominent among others who spoke in the meeting.
All the Mandal presidents, BJP District office bearers, Mahilla Morcha and Youva Morcha office bearers were also present in the meeting.
