JAMMU, Oct 23: Showing his resentment towards the inquiry conducted by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in August 9 and 10 Kishtwar and Padder clashes, BJP senior leader Sunil Sharma said that it has lost its credibility as the main culprits and criminals behind Kishtwar violence are still roaming free, while the innocent people are being harassed and lodged in jails.
Addressing a press conference at Party Headquarters here today, Sharma, alleged Ashish Kumar, son of Subash Chander, a resident of Bera Bhata, was charged by the police in murder case despite the fact that he was at Jammu on the day of violence and there are sufficient proofs to authenticate that he is innocent.
He said that this is not the only case where SIT has framed innocent people and added that majority of people who have been charged buy it are innocent. Similarly Omkar Singh Sarpanch Padder has been charge-sheeted under 307 CrPC when during riots in Padder he was helping the administration and remained along with Tehsildar and SHO Padder throughout the day. This has created utter dissatisfaction and deep resentment among the nationalists, he added.
He demanded immediate release of all the innocent youths, beside appointment of DIG rank officer as  head of SIT so that free and fair inquiry could be conducted.
Sharma reiterated his Party’s demand regarding CBI probe in Kishtwar violence to bring the  real culprits to book as the people have lost faith on state agencies. He condemned the administration and police for their failure to prevent anti India sloganeering during Eid procession.
He also slammed the Kishtwar administration for not releasing compensation in favour of the victims and said that the formalities demanded by the administration for release of compensation clearly show that Government is not willing to fulfil its promise made with various public representatives in various public meetings. He demanded immediate release of compensation in favour of victims without any further delay.
BJP State Secretary & Kishtwar Prabhari Munish Sharma, Kishtwar BJP district president Rajinder Singh and Distt. general secretary Lalit Sharma were also present in the press conference.
