JAMMU, May 6: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), held a strong protest against the killing of its senior leader, Gul Mohammed Mir at Nowgam village in South Kashmir district of Anantnag on Saturday.
Effigy of Pakistan was torched amidst the shouting of slogans of Pakistan and terrorism down -down by the protesting partymen held under the leadership of BJP senior leaders at Press Club, here, this morning.

BJP State president, Ravinder Raina in his address while attacking Pakistan for its open support to terrorism, termed it a rogue country and held it and its sponsored militants responsible for ghastly attack which claimed a precious life of BJP’s district vice-president for Anantnag, Gul Mohammed Mir.
He said that the way, in which Gul Mohammed Mir, was shot dead at his home in Nowgam village on Saturday night, shows the frustration of terrorists to disrupt the ongoing peace process in Kashmir.
Former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta, State general secretary, Yudhvir Sethi, former ministers Sat Sharma, Sukhnandan Choudhary, MLC Ashok Khajuria, State vice-president, Parmod Kapahi, former MLA, Rajesh Gupta, State secretaries, Praduman Singh, Veenu Khanna, BJYM State president, Vikas Choudhary, BJP Mahila Morcha State president, Rajni Sethi, SC Morcha State president Jagdish Bhagat, State spokesperson, Brig. (retd) Anil Gupta, State press secretary & State media incharge, Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, State incharge Social Media & IT, Jaidev Rajwal, district presidents Ayodhya Gupta, Baldev Singh Billawaria, Omi Khajuria were amongst the prominent party leaders who took part in the protest.
Kavinder Gupta, emphasized that the martyred leader has braved many threats to his life due to his active social and political life. He said that the sacrifice of Gul will act as beacon for the coming generations.
Sat Sharma, in his address, said that Gul Mohammed was associated with the BJP for a long time and had earlier contested Assembly elections from Dooru constituency in 2008 and 2014.
Yudhvir Sethi, in his address, said that the Pakistan and its sponsored terrorists will have to pay a heavy price for their misdeeds. He said that today, we have lost a true soldier, who never cared for his life, while working for the party and the society.
