BJP-led NDA has given effective, honest Govt: Naqvi

NEW DELHI, Dec 29:
Minister of State for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi today claimed that the BJP-led NDA under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given an effective and honest government.
“The BJP has given an effective and honest Government to the nation. The country was going through worst situation earlier, the BJP has given a strong leadership to it,” Mr Naqvi told UNI.
Mr Naqvi alleged that there was rampant corruption in the country, a number of scams took place and there was a policy paralysis at the Centre during the ten-year-long tenure of the Congress-led UPA government.
“Now the situation has changed, the BJP Government has given a strong leadership, reforms be it economic, judicial, labour are taking place. The government has started important reforms,” he said.
Mr Naqvi said the BJP government was moving forward with its mantra of development and good governance. “Six-month time is very less to judge performance of any Government. But the NDA Government is performing good,” he said when asked about performance of the Narendra Modi government in the last six months.
Mr Naqvi, who is also Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, said during the Winter session of Parliament a record number of bills were passed despite disruptions by opposition parties, especially in the Rajya Sabha. On initiatives regarding merger of Janata Parivar parties by RJD chief Lalu Yadav, SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar, the BJP leader said, such groups are formed time to time” but the people have rejected “negative politics” of these political parties.
“We believe in democracy, we want constructive opposition, but these parties (Janata Parivar constituents) have no ideology, no plans and no leadership,” Mr Naqvi added. Commenting on the upcoming Delhi Assembly polls, the Union Minister claimed that the BJP would win the elections. “Both the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party have been exposed. The people of Delhi had a bad experience due to these two political parties, the people are in favour of positive politics and development and they will support the BJP,” he said. (UNI)
