SUCHETGARH, Nov 30: Chairman of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Jammu and Kashmir for Administrative Engagement and Minority Affairs, and District Development Council (DDC) Member Suchetgarh, Taranjit Singh Tony today asserted that the Jammu and Kashmir is presently passing through a dark era due to wrong policies of BJP Government at the Centre.
He was speaking after inaugurating development works of nearly Rs 3 crore comprising protection wall, culverts, blacktopping of road at Peer Baba Kuppi Fly Joura Farm in Suchetgarh at the Zero Line border.
Tony said J&K is facing Government sponsored loot by way of illegal Toll Plaza at Sarore which was admitted by the Union Cabinet Minister, Nitin Gadkari that the Sarore Toll Plaza does not qualify the criteria of distance between Nagrota Ban and Sarore Toll Plaza. Hence it was illegal collection of hardworking money of people of Jammu region, he added.
The senior AAP leader said “It was admitted and promised by Nitin Gadkari for lifting the Sarore Toll Plaza in three months but unfortunately the Toll Plaza is still functional.”
Tony further slammed BJP leadership for being hand-in-glove with liquor mafia and pushing the people to the wall. He said that on the issue of joblessness, the LG administration has no reply but when it comes to providing liquor at people’s doorstep, the same administration is so keen that there are no words to explain this kind of zeal.
He said that the liquor mafia has put all swipe machines in the wine shops out of order just to over-charge the customers, he said, adding that the Government is playing in the hands of liquor mafia, which is a bad omen for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Talking about mineral mafia ruling the roost by open loot of minerals, Tony said that the BJP Government has given a long rope to this mafia to act on its whims and fancies as no authority has the will or power to keep a check on it. He said the rates of mining mafia are not as per the tender. Mining mafia is fleecing the people of Jammu and the concerned Mining Department has become a mute spectator.
