BJP-NPP members walks out from LA after speaker disallows motion

 

SRINAGAR :  BJP and National Panthers Party (NPP) members today walked out from the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly (LA) after Speaker Mubarak Gul disallowed Adjournment Motion on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s recent statement on the states accession with Union of India.

As the House assembled today to take up the ‘Question Hour’, members from almost all opposition parties, including Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), BJP, NPP, CPI(M) and Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) were on their feet, demanding that House should take up their Adjournment Motions and Resolutions first.

PDP, CPI-M and PDF were demanding that Question Hour should be suspended and Adjournment Motion and resolution on recent killings in the Jammu and Kashmir and revelations by former Army Chief General V K Singh that politicians were being paid from secret fund by Army since 1947.

The BJP motion had demanded discussion on recent statement of Mr Abdullah to European delegation about state’s accession with Union of India.

However, Mr Gul said since the House discussed the issue yesterday, he is now rejecting the BJP motion.

The BJP and NPP members protested for some time, raising slogans for dismissal of the coalition government in the  state.

Later they walked out from the house. (agencies)
