DODA, Aug 24: Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president and former minister Ghulam Ahmed Mir today said that BJP and PDP are playing communal and divisive cards, just to divert the attention of the general people from the basic issues and cover up their failures.
Addressed series of meetings at Udhampur, Maitra (Ramban) and Doda, today as part of party campaign today on Art 35A, PCC chief cautioned the people about the designs of communal and divisive forces in the State to create wedge between the regions and communities for their vested interests.
He said that BJP and PDP played the  emotional and divisive cards for petty political gains during elections, thus ignoring the broader interest of nation and the U-turn of two parties for Govt formation was the most opportunist, as these parties secured  respective mandate by politics of deception and exploitation and this kind of politics is a deception with respective mandate. Both the  parties, have compromised with their ideology, agenda and issues of people  for lust of power and people of both the regions (Kashmir & Jammu) feel cheated  by this approach of PDP and BJP.
Mir alleged that present coalition in the State is specialized in creating controversies, thus diverting the attention of the people from their betrayal of respective mandate and mis-governance on real issues like price hike, unemployment, non-availability of basic amenities of life like drinking water electricity, medicare facilities, education, road connectivity etc.
Senior vice president  Sham Lal Sharma lambasted   BJP and the PDP for  their unholy alliance which has totally failed on the ground in view of the inherent contradictions on all sensitive issues  between the two coalition partners as a result  the situation has deteriorated on all fronts. He said the only achievements of the present dispensation is to generate controversies and conflicts disturbing the political, social and secular fabric of this sensitive state.
Lashing out at the BJP for its opportunist and duel stand, he said that the BJP which is equal partner in the Government is defending article 35-A before the apex court while in public domain it is trying to befool and exploit the people favouring its abrogation.
