JAMMU, Sept 6: Shub Chander Verma, convener Senior Citizens Cell BJP today highlighted the various public welfare schemes launched by the Central Government headed by Prime Minster, Narendra Modi.
Verma, who chaired the meeting which was attended by senior citizens here, today urged them to take these schemes to the people in their respective areas and apprise them of their benefits.
Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir having remained unattended by previous Governments, needs much focus and every scheme launched for the welfare of the nation as well as its citizens be highlighted, he said.
The meeting highlighted the schemes including pension to old age, insurance cover of senior citizens, Medical Insurance for the Senior Citizens etc.
