BJP suppressing voice of Dalits: Manohar

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, July 22:  Former MLA from Billawar and senior Congress leader Dr Manohar Lal Sharma has  alleged that BJP was trying to suppress the voice of `Dalits’ and down trodden members of the society.
While condemning the BJP over the recent  issue of mercilessly beating  of  `Dalits’ in  Gujarat which widely  spread the hatred against the anti- Dalit mentality of the BJP, the Congress leader alleged that BJP stood exposed for its dual face.
Dr Sharma referred to the BJP leader Dayashanker’s comments against BSP supremo Kumari Mayawati  and alleged that it speaks of the mindset of the BJP leaders and hate against the SC community. Such people deserve punishment as per law of the land, he said.
The Cong leader recalled the  incident of the charred to death of  the two Dalit children in the BJP ruled  State of  Haryana. It is unfortunate that all the  culprits are released on bail and are moving freely without any fear of rule and law, Dr Sharma added.
The Ex-MLA further said that the BJP and its complete leadership including the workers of the party are behaving like dictators and speaking arrogantly in public and even in the media during discussions and debates. This is spreading fear among the Dalits and suppressing the common masses on the name of religion and caste. Their attitude and arrogance has been witnessed after attaining power.  He condemned the attitude and said that this shows the real face of BJP and its hidden agenda towards the Dalits and downtrodden.
