BJP’s concern over deletion of names from voter lists

JAMMU, July 22: The BJP district president Jammu Rural, Omi Khajuria has appealed the Governor, N N Vohra to issue directives to the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) authorities to include the names of those people in the voter lists who are residing in nine wards of Jammu suburban for last 30 years now.
In a statement issued here, today Khajuria said that as per Act any body residing in the Municipal limits having water and power connection is entitled to cast his vote in Municipal poll for the development purpose of his area.
He said in the past during NC -Congress rule the names of voters in the nine municipal wards of Jammu Rural were deleted for political considerations and despite the protest by the BJP activists no attention was paid in inclusion of the same in voter lists.
Khajuria made an appeal to Governor to look into the matter so that these people can also cast their votes during municipal poll.
