BJP’s ‘Mission 44+’ fails despite Modi magic in J&K

SRINAGAR, Dec 23:
Though Modi magic worked, it could not  garner the BJP an absolute majority in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Mission 44+, a target set by the saffron party to form the Government in the Muslim majority state, failed. The party could get 25 seats, all in the Jammu region, as it draw blank in Kashmir valley and Ladakh region.
Interestingly, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which one per cent vote share has won 27 seats and was leading in one seat. As per the details of the Election Commission, following is the vote percentage of each party.
BJP 23 per cent, PDP 22.7 per cent, National Conference 20.8 per cent, Congress 18 per cent,  Independents 6.8 per cent, National Panthers Party 2 per cent, Peoples Conference 1.9 per cent, BSP 1.4 per cent, PDF 0.7 per cent, DPN 0.5 per cent in all the constituencies these parties contested in 87-member House.
