BJYM, others organize “Run for Unity” marathon

JAMMU, Oct 31: The State unit of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha organized “Run for Unity” marathon on the occasion of birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel. Besides party activists, hundreds of students from various schools, NSS, NCC and people from all walks of life participated in the programme and showed their zeal of unity and brotherhood among each other.
State BJP Chief and MP Jugal Kishore Sharma flagged off the marathon in the presence of Leader of Legislative Party Ashok Khajuria and State General Secretary (Org.) Ashok Koul. The marathon started from Ranbireshwar Temple and culminated at Dogra Chowk outside Press Club.
Addressing the enthusiastic youth gathering Jugal Kishore Sharma mentioned the unique contribution of Sardar Patel to the freedom struggle. He stated that India’s unity in diversity gives us strength and we are celebrating this day to mark the sign of unity amongst all sections of the society. He said that people should be vigilant and united to safeguard the power of unity in diversity of this nation.
Ashok Khajuria recalled the Mantra of “Ek Bharat : Shresht Bharat” and said that Sardar Vallabhai Patel gave us this Mantra and we all should focus on working towards creating foremost India. He said that the work done by statesman like Patel is a source of inspiration for youth of this nation.
State BJYM Incharge Yudhvir Sethi administered the pledge of unity to the assembled people and said that each and everyone should dedicate himself  to preserve the unity, integrity and security of the nation.
State General Secretary BJYM Ajay Pargal conducted the proceedings.
Prizes for first three positions and participation mementos were also distributed by the chief guest after the marathon.
Sat Sharma (CA), Kavinder Gupta, Parimoksh Seth, Sunil Sethi, SS Bijral, Rajesh Gupta, Rajni Sethi, Munish Sharma, Aseem Gupta, Priya Sethi, Vikram Randhawa, Ashish Sareen, Bhanu Singh Jasrotia, Rahul Sharma, Rajan Thakyal, Eshant Mahajan, Mohinder Gupta, Rajeev Dubey, Kulbir Charak, Ankit Gupta, Ishant Gupta, Ajay Vaid, Vikas Choudhary, Tarun Sharma, Ayodhya Gupta, Lovekesh Gondi, Ravi Kiran Sharma,  Rinku Chouhan, Pawan Sawhney, Koshal Sharma,  Rajesh Nischal,  were among the prominent who took part in the marathon.
On the eve of Sardar Vallabhai Patel birth anniversary, Shakti Punj, a social organization Hiranagar celebrated Rashtriya Ekta Diwas in collaboration with NYK Kathie by organizing “Run For Unity’’ programme.
Students from Kendriya Vidalaylaya Hiranagar, Government Higher Secondary School Hiranagar, Public Model Hr, Secondary School, Bhartiya Vidya Mandir School, Infant Jesus Higher Secondary School, and volunteers of Shakti Punj participated.
