BKS’ concern over canal water not reaching villages

JAMMU, Dec 25: Bharatiya Kissan Sangh leader Subash Dasgotra today voiced concern over Ranbir canal water not reaching up to tail end causing enormous inconvenience to the people living in the far off villages.
In a statement issued here today, Mr Dasgotra said the water level has been reducing in Ranbir canal over the years and now it has reached such a stage that the people of far off villages were unable to get the water for irrigation of their crops.
He appealed to the Government including the Irrigation Minister to ensure that the water in Ranbir canal reached right up to the tail end as used to be the case earlier so that the farmers are benefited from the water facility. He regretted that instead of creating more avenues for irrigation, the Government has not been able to maintain whatever resources it already has.
