Block Reasi organizes Rural Sports Competitions under RGKA

REASI, Sept 19: Rural Sports Competitions of Block Reasi being organized by the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports J&K under Rajiv Gandhi Khel Abhiyan 2015 culminated today at General Zorawar Sports Stadium, here.
The Competitions were conducted in the disciplines of Athletics, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball and Wrestling in sports congenial atmosphere by a panel of technical officials comprising Ashok Kumar, Pardeep Nag, Kuldeep Raj, Romesh Chander, Tour Kumar, Des Raj, Pushkar Raj, Ajay Kumar Billa, Ajay Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar, Jaswant Singh, Pawan Sharma, Kirna Devi, Manzoor Hussain, Sukhwinder Singh under the close association of Om Parkash ZPEO Reasi and Manohar Lal Sharma ZPEO Chassana.
S K Khajuria, District Panchayat Officer Reasi was the chief guest on the inaugural ceremony, while Prem Kumar, Executive Engineer REW Reasi and Principal Boys Higher Secondary School Reasi, Sudarshan Pandoh were the special guests.
While speaking on the occasion, Khajuria stressed upon the need of fitness with performance stating that disciplined and enhanced degree of fitness are the pre-requisites for any sort of achievement.
The opening ceremony was very well attended by Principal Amba Kids Home Panthal, Ashwani Katoch, Narinder Sharma, Raj Singh, Shakeel Ahmed, Arun Dev Singh and a large number of teaching staff from the various institutions and the local people.
These competitions are being organized under the overall supervision of District Youth Services and Sports Officer Reasi Dr. Swaran Singh Chib.
In Kho-Kho, Panthal, Aghar Jitto and Sirah Kotla claimed first, second and 3rd positions respectively, while in Kabaddi, Aghar Jitto, Gran Banotrian and Mari A emerged winners of first three places respectively, while in Volleyball, Mari A, Panthal and Gran Banotrian won first second and third spots respectively.
The gold medals in Wrestling went to Madan Singh Talwara, Kuldeep Singh Talwara and Surjeet Singh Talwara.
The gold medal winners in Athletics included Ajeet Singh Seela (100 Mtrs), Mohd Altaf Mari (400 Mtrs), Abhishek Singh Gran Banotrian (800 Mtrs), Qyoom Ali Talwara B (1500 Mtrs), Imtiaz Ahmed Talwara B (3000 Mtrs), Deepak Singh Sirah Kotla (Shot Put), Ganesh Singh AgharJitto (Discus), Sahil Kumar Talwara B (Long Jump) and Mohit Verma Mari B (High Jump).
