BLSKS organizes workshop on ‘Duggar Traditional Culture’

JAMMU, Feb 25: To promote the rich traditional culture of J&K, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) organized a workshop on ‘Duggar Traditional Culture’ at Udhampur and Jammu   in collaboration with Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Song and Drama Division and  Sangam Tru Art Production at  Amar Jyoti  High School, Tikri, Swarn Model  Academy, Tikri  and Open Air  Theatre, Durga Bhawan, here.
The program was inaugurated by the chief guest Hari Raj Prasher, Principal, Amar Jyoti High School,  Tikri.
The guests of honour were RP Amla, Event Director, Yash Paul Yash, senior Lecturer, Ram Ditta, renowned folk singer and dancer.
KK Joshi, Vice Chairman BLSKS and ML Dogra, Chairman BLSKS gave details of the workshop.
BLSKS and STAP also presented cultural programmes on ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padao and National Integration’ in association with Song and Drama Division Ministry of Information & Broadcasting GoI and Chief Education Officer of Directorate  of School Education.
197th Saturday Series Musical Play ‘Doli’ was staged at Jyoti High School, Tikri, Udhampur and Durga Bhawan Janipur Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest lauded the role of  Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan and underlined the importance of staging such plays and  workshops in all parts of the State to generate awareness among the masses about various social evils through theatre/drama.
RP Amla also spoke on the occasion.
‘Doli’ Musical Play written, produced and directed by ML Dogra (Chairman BLSKS) reflects the agony of two conservative families who are bent upon getting their daughter and son married at tender age, ignoring the advice of intellectuals of the society. The   marriage turns into a disaster making the life of both bride & groom miserable. And the play goes on…

The singers, musicians and actors who performed were Usha Handoo, MC Kotwal , Raju Bajgal, KK Joshi, Rajni Gupta, Kuldeep Raj, Sunil Kumar, Rahul Raina, Gauri Lal and Deepak Kumar.
