Blue Star wins Common Cause Trust T-20

SRINAGAR, Aug 25: The Blue Star Khankah-i-Maula Cricket Team lifted Common Cause Trust T-20 Cricket Tournament which was played at Zindeshah Stadium, Rainawari here today.
Minister for Youth Services and Sports, R S Chib was the chief guest while the Minister for Rural Development Department and Panchayati Raj, Ali Mohammad Sagar was the guest of honour on the occasion.
As many as 16 local teams participated in the tournament.  The final of the tournament was played between Blue Star Khankah-i-Maula and Rainawari-XI.   Batting first, the Rainawari-XI set a target of 136 runs in the stipulated overs. Chasing the target, the Blue Star Khankah-i-Maula team achieved the target and won the match.
Later, the Ministers gave away trophies and cash prizes among the winner and runner-up teams. They also distributed cash prizes and medals individually among the players who showed better performance in the tournament.
Appreciating the efforts of the organizers,  Chib appealed youth to work for promotion of sports activities in the area. He assured full Government support besides providing other facilities to the organizers for creating and increasing sports interests among the youth.
