JAMMU, May 13: The J&K unit of Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) today held its executive core committee meeting in which all the office bearers have opposed the Central Government over dilution in labour laws.
“The BMS is against the Central Government’s move for scraping or deferment of labour laws in favour of the industrialist with a plea that by diluting the statuary provisions of labour laws the economy will be boosted,” said Ashok Choudhary in a statement issued here.
Choudhary said there is already huge exploitation of working classes due to non implementation of minimum wages, payment of wages, Gratuity Act etc and most important is that the Govt was moving to implement a mechanism of grievances redressal process, available under I.D Act. “If all these provision are diluted, there will be a chaos as both the parties will try to resolve their grievances at streets which will be not in the interest of the nation,” he said.
They alleged that the incumbent Central Government was confused over labour fronts as on one hand the Government was framing the labour codes while on other hand, it has adopted a dictatorial attitude with not taking into confidence the Central labour organisations. However, all these issues must be discussed in tripartite meeting. “If the Government goes ahead with these policies, the BMS will start agitation against the anti workers policies of the Central Government,” said Ashok Choudhary.
