JAMMU, Oct 28: Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) here today staged protest demonstrations at Bari Brahmana, Kathua and Reasi as part of its nationwide protest demonstration.
The protesters raised slogans against Central Government’s New Labour Codes.
Addressing the protesters senior BMS leader, Harbans Choudhary said, in New Labour Codes number of anti-labour provisions have been incorporated to appease the employers on the name of ease of doing business.
“The Government is hell bent to finish regular employment in all the sectors and due to this inequality difference in rich and poor is widening day by day,” he maintained adding that functioning of ESI and PF in J&K is at grinding halt as medical reimbursement of ESI bills is pending since 2018 and there is a mess in PF offices as cases are not being settled for months together.
He also said that Kathua and Rajouri PF offices are without a head for the last more than a year.
The BMS leader also claimed that workers work for 12 hours without any overtime and labour department officials pay no heed towards this wrong doing.
Ashok Choudhary, BMS General Secretary alleged that the Government is working under the influence of business lobby and the Labour Code Bills were placed before the Parliament in 2019 with numbers of pro-workers provisions but all of a sudden those were withdrawn by the Central Government and fresh bills were presented in the Parliament and passed without any discussion.
