Body of drowned youth fished out from Tawi

JAMMU, May 4: The body of a youth, who had drowned last evening in Tawi river near Harki Pouri, was fished out today by local youths of Gorkha Nagar.
According to SHO, police station, Bagh-e-Bahu, Jasbir Singh, the boy identified as Vinod (21) son of Shivnandan, a resident of Madhya Pradesh (MP), who was working at a bakery shop in Jain Bazaar, was swept away by Tawi water yesterday when he along with his other friends had gone to take a bath in Tawi river near Harki Pouri.
He said though, massive search operation was launched yesterday in Tawi river by local youths and SDRF teams but the body of the youth could not be found. However, the local youths of Gorkha Nagar continued their search today as well and successfully fished out the body of the youth from river, this afternoon.
After conducting legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites.
