JAMMU, Aug 5: The week-long celebrations of Bone & Joint Week commenced today at Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences (ASCOMS) & Hospital, Sidhra, Jammu with a Yoga & Meditation session.
During the Session, which was organized by Dr Rajesh Kumar Gupta, Prof & Head Orthopaedics Department, ASCOMS and president, Indian Orthopaedic Association J&K, the students of MBBS course were given a live demonstration of Yoga and the importance of meditation in day to day life of an individual, specially in the current scenario of ongoing Pandemic of COVID-19 was also explained.
Dr Ravinder K Gupta, Prof & Head Paediatrics Department demonstrated various Asanas of Yoga to the students and the invited guests and described the scientific rationale behind every Asana.
Chief Guest of the function, Dr Pavan Malhotra, Director Principal ASCOMS, while inaugurating the week long celebrations, lauded the efforts of Dr Rajesh Kumar Gupta for taking such an initiative and associating ASCOMS with this national event.
Dr Malhotra stressed upon medical students to adopt COVID appropriate behavior and attend the college as medical studies are incomplete without seeing the patients.
