SAMBA, May 20: Shakeel Ahmed Beig, DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range alongwith SP Samba distributed books to the needy students of border belt of the District, here today.
The programme was organized under Civic Action Programme at Rajpura in Samba.
The books were distributed to the students of class 9th and class 10th of Higher Secondary School Rajpura in Samba and High School Chak Kana near Haria Chak in Kathua.
DIG Jammu also felicitated Dr Raminder Jeet Singh who is running a NGO “THE-SARA” working against suicidal deaths and social evils.
DIG Jammu awarded appreciation certificate to Dr Raminder for his outstanding role / contribution towards the eradication of suicidal deaths from the society.
Large number of prominent persons, Sarpanchs of the local areas as well as school staff and students were present in the programme.
Mr Beigh was accompanied by Parshotam Sharma, Deputy Director Prosecution Range Police Headquarters Jammu, Diwakar Singh SDPO Border Kathua and Vijay Paul Singh SDPO Samba and others.
