KISHTWAR, Nov 5: Police today arrested a bootlegger and recovered 296 litre of illicit liquor worth Rs 50,000 from his possession at Harwai Nallah, falling under the jurisdiction of Dachhan Police Station.
Police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police party from Dachhan Police Station laid a naka and intercepted a person Ghulam Ali, son of Ghulam Qadir of Banzwar, Kishtwar.
During checking, police recovered 108 pouches (296.7 litres) of illicit liquor concealed in 30 boxes, worth Rs 50,000 from his possession, he added.
A case under FIR Number 13/12 under Section 48 (A) Excise Act has been registered at Dachhan Police Station and investigation started.
