KATRA, Dec 18: Police has arrested a bootlegger and seized 40 pouches of illicit liquor, which were being smuggled by the accused in a Tata Sumo.
A Police party, led by Inspector Kuldeep Krishan, SHO Katra, under the supervision of SDPO Dr Ashok Sharma, laid a special naka at Ambika Chowk Katra and apprehended the accused, namely Kuldeep Sharma of Marta Ramnagar, who is a driver by profession. 40 poly pouches, measuring 250/250 ml each of J&K Excise Liquor, were recovered from his possession. Vehicle TATA Sumo, bearing registration number .JK14B-3746, which was being used for transportation of illicit liquor, has also been seized.
In this connection, a case under Section 48-A Excise Act and 188/RPC has been registered at Police Station Katra against the accused person.
