KATRA, Apr 20: Police today arrested a bootlegger and seized 55 pouches of liquor from his possession when he was trying to smuggle the same to holy town Katra.
A Police team, led by SI Vikas Jasrotia, Incharge Police Post Kakryal, laid a special naka at Kakryal and intercepted the accused, identified as Mohinder Kumar of Kakryal. During checking, the Police team succeeded in recovery of 55 poly pouches measuring 250/250 ml each of J&K Excise liquor from possession of the accused, who was arrested on the spot.
Police seized the recovered liquor and registered a case in this connection, under section 48-A Excise Act, at Police Station Katra.
