SAMBA, Sept 18: Continuing its drive against the menace of illicit trade of liquor, district Police Samba arrested a bootlegger and recovered 45 bottles of illicit liquor in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS), Vijaypur today.
Acting on reliable information regarding the sale of illicit liquor at Vijaypur town and in its adjoining areas, a police party of PS Vijaypur rushed to the spot and arrested one person namely Ajeet Kumar, S/o Bachan Singh, R/o Vishwakarma Mandir Colony, Canal road, Vijaypur who was selling illicit liquor to the general public at exorbitant rates to gain illegitimate profit.
A total of 45 bottles { Kingfisher Beer 24 bottles (650 ml), Dark Whisky one bottle (750ml), 1965 Vintage Whisky 02 bottles (750 ml), 8Pm Whisky 02 bottles (750 ml), MC Dowels Whisky 01 bottle (750 ml), Teacher Highland Cream 04 bottles (750 ml), Teachers 50 Whisky 03 bottles (750 ml), 100 Pipers 02 bottles (750 ml), Black Dog 02 bottles (750 ml), Royal Challanger 01 bottle (750ml), Royal Stag 01 bottle (750ml), Vat 69 Whisky 01bottle (750 ml), Madira XXX Rum 01 bottle (750 ml) } were recovered.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 159/2020 U/S 48 (a) Excise Act registered at PS Vijaypur and investigation started.
