REASI, May 24: Police arrested a bootlegger and a narcotic smuggler in two separate incidents.
As per police sources, police party from police station Reasi led by SHO Amod Ashok Nagpure during patrolling at Bus Stand Reasi apprehended a person namely Vikram Singh alias Sonu, son of late Romail Singh of Agar Jitto along with 40 pouches of illicit liquor.
A case under FIR number 77/15 under Section 48-A Excise Act stands registered at police station Reasi and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a special team from police station Katra headed by SDPO Katra Dr Ashok Sharma and assisted by SHO Katra Kuldeep Krishan under the supervision of Sujit Kumar SSP Reasi recovered 160 grams of poppy straw and 120 grams of charas from the possession of Rakesh Kumar, son of Krishna Chand of Akhali Sherwad, tehsil Katra. The accused was arrested on the spot.
A case under FIR number 79/15 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Katra police station and investigation started.
