Bovine animals rescued; absconder nabbed

UDHAMPUR, Nov 29: Udhampur Police today rescued three bovine animals and also arrested the person, who was smuggling these animals to Kashmir valley in a Tata Mobile.
This Tata Mobile, bearing registration number JK14B-5599, was intercepted by police party, led by SHO Udhampur Deepak Jasrotia during a wee hour naka on the National Highway.
Besides rescuing the animals, Police arrested the accused driver, identified as Saif Ali of Khari Udhampur and also seized the vehicle.
A case under Section 188/RPC 3PCA Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Udhampur.
Meanwhile, Udhampur Police also nabbed an absconder, who was evading his arrest for the last more than a decade.
Identified as Maphu of Omala Udhampur, he was wanted in case FIR number 37/2000 and 213/2002 under Section 457/380 RPC at Police Station Udhampur.
