SAMBA, June 27: In continuation to its drive against bovine smuggling, district police Samba foiled bovine smuggling bid after arresting a bovine smuggler and rescued three bovines at a naka NHW, Tapyal in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal.
Acting on reliable information received at PS Ghagwal about bovine smuggling, a police party of PS Ghagwal laid a naka at NHW, Tapyal and intercepted a Mahindra vehicle bearing Registration No. JK08J-9540 which was coming from Kathua side and moving towards Srinagar.
During checking of the vehicle, three cattle were found laden in it. The accused driver identified as Amjad Ali, S/o Khalid Hussain R/O Bhaya Hiranagar has been arrested. All the three cattle were rescued and shifted to safer place. The vehicle used for transporting the bovines was seized on spot.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 63/2020 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Ghagwal and investigation started.
