UDHAMPUR, Dec 17: Udhampur Police today foiled another attempt of bovine smuggling and arrested one person who was transporting four bovine animals to Kashmir valley.
Reports said that while conducting surprise checking on the National Highway near Jakhani, a Police party led by SHO Udhampur Deepak Jasrotia, intercepted one Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK02BD-3591 which was on its way towards Srinagar from Jammu.
During through search of the vehicle, four bovine animals were found loaded inside the vehicle in very cruel manner. Police rescued the animals and seized the vehicles besides arresting the smuggler, identified as Mohd Muneer of Marallian R S Pura.
In this connection, a case FIR number 404/2013 under Section 188/RPC 3 PCA has been registered at Police Station Udhampur.
