UDHAMPUR, Dec 26: Foiling bovine smuggling bid, Udhampur Police rescued 18 animals and arrested the accused.
The accused, identified as Mohd Sharief of Khanpur Nagrota, was arrested at Kud Naka when he was transporting bovine animals to Kashmir in a truck. Police rescued the animals and also seized the truck.
A case under Section 188 RPC has been registered in this connection at Police Station Kud.
Meanwhile, Kud Police also arrested an absconder, who was wanted in a case FIR number 13/2010 at Police Station Kud. After his arrest, the accused namely Shah Mohd of Krimchi Mansar, was produced in the court of law for further proceedings.
